Wizard World Chicago. . . .Here I Come.

For those who don't know I'm a Huge Comic Fanboy,
("fanboy is a term used to describe an individual who is devoted to a single subject, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession." according to wikipedia.)
and every year since 1997, Wizard Entertainment has been hosts to four annual comic book conventions in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Texas.

I have been going since '99 or 2000 and Every year I look more and more forward to it and with most of my friends now reading comics, it has become a big group outing that everyone enjoys.

This year the Convention is in June (june 26-29) instead of late July or early August like previous years, this was done to keep up with having to be so close in dates with San Diego Comic-Con.

The Guest list looks to be very promising with many creators coming for the first time or back again after many years away.

At Last...A Blast From our Past.

There has been a lot of DVDs coming out of shows from the past and present,
there is one TV show that has been missing from our shelves,
but the wait is almost over.

Now if you were a kid back in the early 90's ( or a teenager like me ),
then you grew up on Animaniacs , Pinky and the Brain and Hysteria!.

but before any these shows became part of our lives , there was Tiny Toons Adventures.

Tiny toons premiered on September 14, 1990 and ran for 3 seasons with a total number of 98 episodes (plus 2 specials), now with Animaniacs and Pinky and the brain already out on DVD the question was when if ever was tiny toons ever going to come out on DVD?.

Well the wait is over, on July 29, 2008 is the release date for TINY TOON ADVENTURES : season 1 part 1 (35 episodes from the 1st season on 4 DVD)

Now join me on July 29, 2008 as I and many others will be reliving our past and laughing our summer away.

Also, Check out the trailer for the DVD Release.

Turn off the lights . . . . for Earth's sake.

Please join in the Movement that is Earth Hour 2008.

In 2007 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour. If the greenhouse reduction achieved in the Sydney CBD during Earth Hour was sustained for a year, it would be equivalent to taking 48,616 cars off the road for a year.

This simple act has captured the hearts and minds of people all of the world. As a result, at 8pm March 29, 2008 millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tel Aviv will unite and switch off for Earth Hour.

The most important thing to do on 03/29/2008 is turn off your lights between 8pm and 9pm.
with this little gesture, we can make a big difference on our planet.

Check out EarthHour.org and also check out My EarthHour profile page, hopefully you can join in this Wonderful cause and don't forget to turn off the lights.

King of Kong: the best video game movie of all time???

This past week me and my brother tony watched the documentary King of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters, and after watching it got me thinking Could this be the greatest video game movie of all time???

The movie premiered at Slamdance in January of 2007 and came out on DVD on January 28, 2008.

For those who don't know what the movie is about, King of Kong is a documentary about the game of Donkey Kong, but more importantly it is a about a guy who decides to go for the world record and the obstacles he had to face in the process.

Steve Weibe was an unemployed father who while going to college to study to be a teacher decide to play donkey kong in his spare time and after achiving a million points, decide to try For the world record and that is were movie gets interresting.

I have watched many documentaries, some with topics that i cared about and some that i didn't, but the great thing about this movie is that it gets you interested in the story of Steve Wiebe and has you hooked until the very end.

Does he get the World Record?

What does the current Champion who is Billy Mitchell who also hold records for Pac-man and many other games does about this?

and many more question will come to you as you watch this movie, if you are a Gamer or not, i recommend everyone to watch this documentary and tell me what you think...
